There are three ways to transfer money.
– If the recipient has a mobile wallet, you can send money directly to the recipient's mobile phone. Or you can choose to send the money either to the recipient's bank account2 or to a representative where the recipient can pick out cash. You can choose whether the recipient should receive the money within a few minutes or the next day," says Kristina Meurke.

Encrypted transmission
Western Union has been around since the mid-1800s and is today one of the largest money transfer companies in the world. Through Western Union, you can send money to over 200 countries and territories around the world. With approximately 600,000 agents worldwide, Western Union reaches almost all corners of the world.
"This means that you can also send money to recipients who live in certain smaller towns and do not have a bank account or mobile wallet," says Kristina Meurke.
All agents undergo rigorous vetting before they are approved as an official Western Union agent.
"It's a very tough process and only reliable companies are allowed to become agents for Western Union. The transfer itself is encrypted for the highest security," says Kristina Meurke.
Financial help
Money sent with Western Union often goes to family and friends in other countries who need financial help.
"It could be that there has been a disaster or that there is a state of war. Then we offer a quick and secure way to transfer money to recipients who are in a vulnerable situation. But we also have recipients who have just lost their wallets on holiday and need help, or students who are studying abroad and get some money from their parents," says Kristina Meurke.
1] The funds are paid out to the recipient's mWallet provider in the case of credit to an account tied to the recipient's mobile number. Additional third-party fees may apply, such as text messages and overdraft and cash withdrawal fees. The availability of money depends on the terms of the service. Limitations are described in the mobile form.
